Howard Peskoe brings Herrick's clients more than 35 years of real estate experience in sales, leasing, development, finance and capital market transactions for office and retail buildings, mixed-use complexes, hotels and multifamily properties. He represents domestic and foreign lenders—both regulated institutions and other less-traditional loan capital providers—in lending work for all project types across the United States and internationally. He also has significant experience in contracting work for owners, contractors and design professionals, involving major development and renovation projects in the metropolitan New York region.
Howard guides owners and lenders on complex, multi-layered financing, leasing and condominium structures with a focus on governmental-related funding for developments, including regional transit hubs and similar properties. Many of these projects also involve multi-tiered ownership structures and financing arrangements. Howard engages in the initial closing or purchase and sale of layers of debt, including mid and junior level mortgage loan interests and mezzanine loan or mezzanine loan participation interests, including complex inter-creditor arrangements and financings. He has been involved in numerous down-turns in the real estate market, representing owners and lenders in workouts and restructuring transactions.
