Herrick is significantly strengthening its Corporate Practice with the arrival of counsel Barbaros Karaahmet
November 2011 -- Herrick, Feinstein LLP
Barbaros Karaahmet, a prominent Turkish-American attorney based in New York, has joined the firm, bringing with him a dynamic and well-established practice. Mr. Karaahmet has significant experience in advising domestic and international clients on U.S-Turkey business ventures and will work with his Herrick colleagues to provide a full range of counsel and assistance on mergers and acquisitions, real estate, tax, private equity, corporate and project finance, and all types of cross-border litigation and transactions.
The addition of Mr. Karaahmet, who will be dividing his time between New York and Istanbul-Ankara, enhances the firm’s Turkish and emerging market practices. With the fastest growing economy in the world, Turkey presents considerable opportunities for U.S. companies seeking to invest in Turkey, as well as Turkish companies that want to enter the U.S. market.
Mr. Karaahmet, together with Herrick Senior Partner Larry Kaye, who has represented the Turkish Government and Turkish business interests for many years, will lead Herrick’s efforts in expanding the firm’s footprint in the international legal arena.
